JSTU Connect Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026 · Applies to JSTU Connect for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, visionOS and Windows · Developer: JASON Studio
In short
JASON Studio does not collect any data from the App Store release of JSTU Connect or from the Windows app. The app has no account, no servers of ours, no advertising, no analytics or tracking, and no third-party SDKs. It works between devices you own, on networks you choose. Information leaves a device only when it goes to devices you have paired or, if you turn on Mesh, through them, and only as described below.
TestFlight Beta builds for Apple devices are the exception: they can send diagnostics about connections, settings, app performance and running time, only after you choose Continue on their Beta Testing Privacy Notes screen, and they are deleted within 30 days. The Beta Privacy Notes describe what they contain.
What stays on your device
- Device details
- Its name, network addresses, and readings such as processor, memory, power, storage and network. They are shown to you in the app.
- Trust and permissions
- Identity keys, the devices you trust and what you allow them. On Apple devices they are kept in the Keychain as this-device-only items, never synced or restored to another device. On Windows they are encrypted with Windows Data Protection for your user account.
- Settings
- Discovery, Bluetooth, Mesh and sharing switches, connection preferences, addresses you add and any device name you set.
- Diagnostic logs
- Kept on the device without names, addresses, input, keys or pairing codes, and never uploaded.
What is transferred, and to whom
- To nearby devices, before pairing
- The kind of device and its name, or its model name if you turn off Show Name to Nearby Devices. No addresses or readings.
- To a device you pair with
- Device names and identities, only after both people confirm the same code.
- To paired devices, when you allow it
- Status readings (off by default), connection checks, touch and pointer input that acts only inside the app, and compute checks that never include your files or personal content.
- Through trusted devices, with Mesh
- Mesh is off by default. An introduction shares identities with the introduced device. Share Through This Device lets your identity and the status you permit reach devices you have not trusted. A device with Adapter on forwards others’ sessions without being able to read them, though devices taking part can see who is on the route. Mac, iPhone and iPad can also exchange status over Bluetooth.
Everything between devices is encrypted. None of it passes through JASON Studio or any other server.
Permissions
- Local Network
- Required on Apple devices to find and connect to your devices.
- Bluetooth
- On Mac, iPhone and iPad, used only when you turn on Bluetooth discovery.
- Camera and Microphone
- Requested only when you ask. Granting access does not start capture or recording, and nothing is recorded, stored or sent.
- Motion & Fitness
- On iPhone and iPad, used only for pressure and altitude readings you enable.
- Windows Firewall
- The Windows app allows incoming connections on private networks only.
Your control and deletion
Turning off sharing sends your devices an update that replaces what they held; devices that are offline stop using it when it expires. Forgetting a device removes its trust and permissions. Forget your devices in the app before deleting it, because the system may keep Keychain items afterwards. Outside the Beta, JASON Studio holds none of your information, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete. Beta reports are deleted automatically within 30 days, or sooner on request.
Third parties, children and testing
JSTU Connect does not sell, share or rent information, and it contains no third-party code that collects data. The app is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone. Apple handles App Store and TestFlight distribution under its own privacy policy. If you send feedback through TestFlight, we receive the comments, screenshots and device details Apple includes with it, and use them only to improve the app. If you apply for the Beta on this website, we keep your email to invite you and to handle your requests, as the Beta Privacy Notes explain.
Opening this website makes an ordinary browser request. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. The website sets no cookies for visitors and runs no advertising or behavioral analytics.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how the app handles information, we will update this policy, its effective date and the App Store privacy details before that version is released.
Form security
The Beta application and deletion forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. A security check runs when you open either form. Cloudflare processes browser and network signals for this check under its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Turnstile does not read your form entries. We record limited operational diagnostics in Cloudflare Workers Logs: the form type, verification and waiting durations, retry counts, and fixed outcome or failure categories. These diagnostics contain no email address, installation identifier, IP address, browser fingerprint, form contents, verification token or secret. They are retained for up to seven days and do not track you across visits. Diagnostic delivery is best-effort and never waits before sending your form. If the check cannot complete, contact support@jasonstu.cc for help.
